Sprouted Moong Salad | How to Sprout Moong Beans | Moong Bean sprouts

  • 1 cup moong beans
  • 1/2 cup carrot, grated
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup tomato chopped
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt & Ground pepper for seasoning

How to Sprout Moong Beans

1. Wash moong beans in fresh water and soak it in enough water for 8 hours or overnight.

2. Drain the water and keep the swelled beans aside.

3. Take clean cloth or kitchen napkin. Wet it in water and squeeze out extra water.

4. Add moong in the cetre of damp cloth. Gather the edges of the cloth and tighten it.

5. Place that in closed container for a day.

6. Next day, you will see small sprouts from the moong beans. If you want longer sprouts, you can keep it for one more day.

7. For making salad, combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and toss it well.

8. Healthy salad is ready to serve.

Homemade Candy Jewelery for Kids

My little one loves candies (me too), especially anything in Rainbow colours. So I thought of implementing both these ideas in making this one. The outcome of the candy jewel is extremely gorgeous and self satisfying. I just want to adore it and do not want to eat them actually. Hope you try this and am sure you would also have the same feeling.

1. Rainbow Candy Necklace

2. Rainbow Candy Bracelet

You can also use this jewels for Cake decoration.


  • 100 gm Mini marshmallow
  • 3 tbsp Water
  • 2 cup Icing sugar
  • silver dragees
  • Food colors - Green, Yellow, Blue, Red


  • Any Light color embroidery thread
  • Needle
  • Scissor
  • Knife
  • Toothpick

Making of Fondant

1. In a large mixing bowl, take Marshmallows with water.

2. Microwave it for 1 minute, then take out and stir with spatula and again microwave it for another 45 Seconds.

3. If you find any lumps, then microwave it again for 5 to 10 seconds.

5. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar, and mix it with rubber spatula.

6. Once it thickens and once you are unable to stir it any further with spatula. Stop stirring at this point.

7. Dust the working floor with powdered sugar and knead it well. (dust the floor often whenever needed)

8. Knead it until dough consistency.

Colouring fondant

1. Dust the working floor with powdered sugar.

2. Divide the fondant into 5 equal portion.

3.Keep one portion aside. Add few drops of food colour on the remaining 4 portions.

4.Knead it until you get a uniform colour.

5.Add few more drops until you get the desired colour.

Fondant beads

1. Divide each coloured portion into smaller portions approximately the size of a chickpea. Roll it between your palms so you form uniform round balls. Using toothpick, poke a hole in the center of each round ball.

2. Repeat untill you get 5 beads in each colours.

3. Let them dry for about 6 hours.

Gorgeous Rainbow pendant

1. Take small portion from each fondant. Roll them individually into thin thread shape using one hand. ( about 8 cm)

2. Place them closely and seal the edges.

3. Take one edge and start swirling it inside to reach the other edge. Use water to seal it.

4. Decorate them using silver dragees.

6. Flip the pendant to the other side and stick big bead on it using water. poke a hole in the middle of the bead.

5. Let it dry for 6 hours.

Bracelet Rainbow bead

1. Take small portion from each fondant. Roll them individually into thin thread shape using one hand. ( about 4 cm)

2. Place them closely and seal the edges.

3. Take one edge and start swirling it to reach the other edge.

4. Now roll them into ball between your palms. Rainbow bead is ready.

5. Decorate it with silver dragees.

6. Let it dry for 6 hours.

Making of Rainbow Candy bracelet ( After drying time)

1. Using needle with thread run the needle through the beads hole.

2. Make sure to keep the big Rainbow bead in the centre.

3. Tie big knot on both ends to secure the beads.

4. Candy Bracelet is ready.

Making of Rainbow Candy Necklace

1. Repeat the same procedure ( Bracelet ) for making the Necklace.

Rainbow Jewel set is ready to wear ( to eat ) :)

Fish 65

Fish 65

Fish 65 is spicy, deep fried fish. Here I made this dish in South Indian style. It can be serve as starter or snack.

Preparation time - 5 minutes
Resting time - 30 minutes
Cooking time - 10 to 15 minutes

Serve - 3 

  • 300 gm Fish fillets, washed and cubed (I used shark fish)
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seed
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp Soy sayce
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

1.Combine all the ingredients in mixing bowl, mix well using hand. Marinade it for 30 minutes in refrigerator.

2.Heat oil in pan over medium-high heat.

3. Drop fish pieces into the heated oil.

4. Deep fry it on both sides.

5. Remove excess oil using paper towel.

6. Serve hot with slices of tomatoes and onions.

Clear Chicken Soup

Clear chicken soup

Clear chicken soup is packed with vegetables and proteins. It helps to ease cold, flu and soar throat. You can feed the broth alone for babies. It is easy to make, healthy and yummy.

  • 300 g chicken, washed (with bone or boneless)
  • 1 cup frozen carrot and peas
  • 1 celery stick, chopped
  • 3 tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves. finely chopped
  • 4 cup water
  • A pinch of dried thyme
  • 1/2 tbsp peppercorns
  • Salt to taste


Chicken soup

1. Combine all the ingredients (except thyme) in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Close the lid and  bring it to boil.

2. Add thymes and reduce heat to simmer. Cook until the chicken cooked well.

3. Use tongs to transfer the chicken to clean cutting board. Chop the chicken meat, discard the bones and add to the soup. 

4. Ladle soup into serving bowls and garnish it with some cilantro. Serve hot.

Tomato Thokku | Thakkali Thokku | Tomato Dip

Tomato Thokku  |  Thakkali Thokku

  • 2 cup Tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/8 tsp turneric powder
  • A pinch of Jaggery/Vellam
  • 2 tbsp of Gingely oil
  • Salt to taste

1. Cube the tomatoes and set aside.

2. Heat oil in heavy-bottemed pan, add mustard seed and urad dal to it.

3. When mustard seed starts to splutter, add cubed tomatoes in it.

4. Stir Occasionally, til tomatoes turn to soft and pulpy.

5. Add in all the spices, mix and cook in low flame. 

6. After sometime, the oil will ooze out from the thokku. Turn off the flame and serve with Idly or Dosa.

How to store:

Once it completely cooled down, store it in air tight container. Use dry spoon every time. It will stay good upto a week.

Crispy Fried Chicken

Fried chicken is moist and crispy Appetizer. It is perfect starter for any occasion. Here I have used All purpose flour for the outer crispy layer. You can replace it with bread crumbs. I hope you will like my version of fried chicken. Happy cooking!


  • 10 Chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying


Crispy Fried Chicken

1. Wash the chicken wings and set aside.

2. Combine all dry ingredients in plate and set aside.

3. Beat egg in bowl and keep it aside.

4. Heat oil in pan.

5. Take a chicken wing, dredge it in the flour mixture, then dip it in the egg mixture. Now again coat it well in the flour mixture.

6. Drop the chicken in heated oil.

7. Fry on both sides till it turn to golden brown color.

8. Remove the excess oil using paper towel.

9. Serve hot with Ketchup or Mayo.

Chickpeas Watermelon Salad

Chickpeas Watermelon Salad is the perfect Morning Breakfast. Its very healthy and stomach filling dish.  While I was making it, I had a doubt " Does watermelon go well with chickpeas ?". Actually It does. The combination of chickpeas, watermelon and lemon juice was so great. My hubby likes it lot :) . I haven't add spicy flavor in this dish. If you want some, add few pinch of chili flakes in it.


  • Watermelon - 1 cup
  • Chickpeas - 1/2 cup
  • Purple onion - 2
  • Tomato - 1
  • Cilantro - 1/2 cup
  • Lemon - 1/2
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Water


1. Soak chickpeas in water for 4 hours or overnight and drain the water.

2. Cook chickpeas with salt and enough water in pressure cooker upto 3 whistle.

3. Remove it from the flame. Once the pressure settle down, open the lid and drain the water. Keep the chickpeas aside.

4. Chop all the ingredients and set aside.

5. Take chickpeas and add all the chopped ingredients. Squeeze lemon juice on it and toss well.

6. Serve it with cold juice.
